Southbound lanes on Notre Dame are currently closed while police investigate

The southbound lanes on Notre Dame have been re-opened following a serious collision this afternoon.

Updated at 4:09 p.m.: Greater Sudbury Police are still on the scene of a serious motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Notre Dame Avenue and King Street.

Bystanders said the injured person is an elderly woman, who has been transported to hospital.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is currently at the scene of a serious motor vehicle/pedestrian collision on Notre Dame Avenue at King Street.

The southbound lanes of Notre Dame heading towards downtown are currently closed at King Street and are being rerouted via Laforest Avenue.

Emergency personnel are on scene. Motorists are asked to find alternate routes until the roadway is reopened.
