A 17-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle and received non life-threatening injuries Monday evening as he walked along a roadway in Val Caron.

The teen was walking along Main Street in the area of Sandy Beach Drive at around 8:30 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle travelling in the same direction.

He was transported to Health Sciences North by EMS.

The roadway was closed until around 11:30 p.m.

The incident is under investigation by Greater Sudbury Police's traffic management unit.
