Pedestrian who laid across road hit by pick-up truck

Police say they’re looking to speak to the driver of that vehicle, who may be unaware they hit a pedestrian

Greater Sudbury Police are looking to speak to the driver of a white pick-up truck involved in a collision shortly after 1:30 a.m. Nov. 9 on Burton Avenue.

According to information provided to police, just prior to the collision, an individual was seen walking south on Burton Avenue, before lying down across the road.

The white pick-up truck with black steel rims, yellow roof lights and what appear to be LED white/blue headlights was travelling north on Burton Avenue when it struck the individual laying across the road.

The vehicle continued up Burton Avenue onto Jean Street. It is possible that the driver was/is unaware that a pedestrian was struck.

The pedestrian sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by City of Greater Sudbury Paramedic Services.

If you were the driver of the vehicle at the time of the incident, or if you have information about this driver, police ask you to contact them at 705-675-9171.
