Pills, pot and paraphernalia found during drug busts

August started with a drug bust in the Flour Mill section of Sudbury.

Officers seized a quantity of drugs from a Melvin Street apartment including 11 grams of marijuana valued at $220, six hydromorphone (dilaudid) tablets worth $120, one morphine tablet valued at $20 along with various drug related paraphernalia.

A 37-year-old man was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and breach of recognizance of bail.

Police also arrested a 33-year-old woman. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

The bust followed an investigation conducted by combined members of the Drug Enforcement Street Team, a unit with representation from RCMP, OPP and Greater Sudbury police.

Meanwhile an investigation by the team early last month resulted in the seizure of morphine and dilaudid pills valued at almost $1,700 as well as $530 cash.

Those drugs were discovered at a residence on Fairview Street near the Lloyd Street hill.

A 50-year-old woman was charged with possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and breach of recognizance of bail.
