The Greater Sudbury Police tactical unit and paramedics were called to Theresa Avenue in Hanmer on Sunday afternoon.

The reason: to help a person in a state of emotional distress, GSPS spokesperson Kaitlyn Dunn told Sudbury.com this morning.

Officers were called to the community in Greater Sudbury's northern reaches at around 4:20 p.m. on Oct. 29 and spent about three hours at the home.

"The tactical unit was brought in to de-escalate the situation," Dunn said.

No charges were laid and no one was brought to hospital.
