Police arrest suspect in burger joint shortly after robbery

Greater Sudbury Police made a quick arrest following a robbery of a convenience store on King Street in the Flour Mill area Saturday evening. At around 9 pm, a lone male entered the store with a disguise over his face and he displayed a weapon.

At around 9 pm, a lone male entered the store with a disguise over his face and he displayed a weapon. He fled the scene and entered a vehicle after obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash.

About 15 minutes later, uniform officers responding to a call observed a similar vehicle at the nearby Burger King Restaurant on Notre Dame Ave.

A male was arrested without incident inside the restaurant.

Rheal Dionne, 27, of Sudbury, has been charged with robbery, wearing a disguise with intent and possession of a controlled substance after police say they found quantities of marijuana and cocaine.

Dionne spent the weekend in jail and is expected to have a bail hearing early this week.
