Police arrest suspected arsonist for shed fire on Regent Street

Greater Sudbury Police Service has charged the man they believe is responsible for a shed fire on Aug. 10 with arson.

Police responded to a call around 9:15 p.m. on Aug. 10 alongside Greater Sudbury Fire Serivces to a structure fire behind the Di Gusto restaurant at 1620 Regent Street.

Firefighters determined the fire as suspicious. 

Police investigated the fire, and just before 8 a.m. this morning, a 44-year-old man was arrested and charged with break and enter, and arson. 

He was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for theft of a motor vehicle, break and enter, and theft of a credit card, related to an incident that happened in February.

He is scheduled for bail court today.
