Const. Fern Benoit, president of the Sudbury Police Association, has announced that civilian and sworn members of the local police service are donating $3,000 to the Northern Ontario Medical Bursary Fund.
Benoit says the men and women of the police service are proud to contribute to such an important and worthwhile initiative.
Chief Ian Davidson approached Benoit as a bursary fund board member and was impressed with the quick response by the police association. Davidson hopes this donation will encourage other emergency services to participate in the development of the medical school.
