A search warrant carried out in Chelmsford July 23 led to a police seizure of nearly 200 marijuana plants and $400,000 in property.

One-hundred-ninety-nine marijuana plants and 30 pounds of the drug were seized, with a street value estimated at around $291,000.

Also taken during the seizure were one pick-up truck, two ATVs, one ATV trailer, two generators, two water pumps, a fire hose, $1,000 in Canadian funds, lights, ballistics, watering cans, fertilizer and what police are describing as a sophisticated solar system.

A Chelmsford area resident has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and production of a controlled substance.
