A Sudbury man is facing numerous charges after Sudbury OPP allege he totalled his pickup truck while driving drunk near Alban, and fled the scene.

On Nov. 6, Sudbury OPP were called out to a fail to remain collision on Highway 64, east of Station Road, in the Municipality of French River (Alban).

“Investigation revealed the pick-up truck failed to negotiate a curve and subsequently struck numerous guardrail posts, along with a sign post,” OPP said in a news release. “Immediately after, the witness called police, the driver was picked up by a friend and fled the scene. Although the vehicle was demolished, the driver was not injured.”

OPP also said further investigation revealed the driver had consumed alcohol at the time of the crash.

The driver also had his driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
