Greater Sudbury Police are concerned for the wellbeing of a man who appeared to have been forced into a car in Hanmer on Monday night.

A witness reported to police that around 12:10 a.m. last night, they saw an altercation occur between a group of men in a dark-coloured car and a pedestrian dressed in white clothing on Rose Court in Hanmer.

The car pulled up next to the pedestrian, the witness said, and men dressed in black clothing exited the vehicle, then a physical altercation occurred.

“A group of males exited the car and engaged in an altercation, which resulted in the pedestrian leaving with the dark-coloured car,” the report reads.

GSPS is trying to confirm the wellbeing of the pedestrian.

“Police are conducting a witness and video surveillance canvass in the area,” police said in a news release. “[We] are requesting the assistance from the public in the area, if they witnessed the event or have video surveillance cameras that may have captured the incident.”
