Police continue investigation into human remains found in burned vehicle

There are no public safety concerns, says OPP

Provincial police continue to investigate the human remains found inside a vehicle that was burned on Kukagami Lake Road in Markstay-Warren on June 28.

There are no public safety concerns, said police.

The OPP and Markstay-Warren Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on Kukagami Lake Road on June 28 at 1:18 p.m., about five kilometers north of Highway 17.

The investigation by the Nipissing West OPP Crime Unit and OPP Forensic Identification Service (FIS) is continuing under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario, the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service and the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshall.
