Three young people and one adult wearing clown masks who were scaring people in the New Sudbury area Wednesday night got a talking-to by Greater Sudbury Police.

Police were called out to the incident at around 9:30 p.m. A vehicle was identified by complainants, and led police to identify the individuals involved.

No weapons were involved and no one was injured as a result of the incident.

The “clowns” were warned about their actions.

Police also told Sudbury.com yesterday that they received three complaints Tuesday about people dressing up as clowns and trying to scare people in the Long Lake area.

The creepy clown phenomenon is one that has been growing since the first report emerged in August in South Carolina.
