Police are investigation a stabbing downtown early Thursday morning. A number of altercations took place outside a Shaughnessy Street bar .
In one incident a male party was leaving the bar and was hailing a cab when he was confronted by another male. A third male party then assaulted the victim from behind and fled in a cab, say police.
The victim received a concussion, was treated at hospital and released. The suspect?s description is unknown.
Moments later another altercation took place across the street in a parking lot. At this time two males assaulted a third male party, who suffered a stab wound to the chest, resulting in a collapsed lung. The victim was transported to hospital and remains in stable condition.
The two suspects left the scene and may have been involved in another altercation and were last seen getting into a cab and leaving southbound on Paris Street.
Witnesses to these altercations and anyone with information are asked to phone police at 675-9171, ext. 2300.
