Police nab suspect in City Surplus robbery

A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with two robberies at City Surplus on Notre Dame Avenue.

On Feb. 12 and Feb. 18, a male entered City Surplus (685 Notre Dame Ave.) in Sudbury by breaking the front glass door. Police report the culprit stolen "uniquely identifiable" items during each incident, although didn't offer any clarification on how the items were unique.

The value of the stolen items is estimated at more than $5,000.

The suspected was identified through security video footage and investigation, police said.

A search warrant was executed at a Sudbury residence and evidence of the crimes was recovered, GSPS reported.

A 39-year-old Sudbury man was arrested and charged with two counts of break, enter and theft, and one count of possession of property obtained by crime.

Police are looking to recover the stolen property (which is a crime to possess, police want to remind the public).
