There is heavy police presence at Sudbury Secondary School after a lock down was initiated this afternoon.

A lockdown that was initiated at Sudbury Secondary School this afternoon due to a potential threat against the school has been lifted.

Greater Sudbury Police located and spoke with the individuals involved and found that the threat was unsubstantiated.

Officers will remain in the area for the time being as a precaution.

There is heavy police presence at Sudbury Secondary School after a lock down was initiated this afternoon.

Greater Sudbury Police tweeted at around 1:05 p.m. that a potential threat had been issued against the school.

The police's tactical unit and patrol officers are at the school to determine the validity of the threat and are asking that members of the public stay away from the area for the time being.
