Update: Five people removed from Albert Street home

Police report scene is secure and the public is in no danger

Updated at 11:06 a.m.: Greater Sudbury Police are reporting they have secured the scene at a home on Albert Street after responding to a weapons complaint about 30 minutes ago.

Sudbury.com has reporters at the scene.

Reporter Arron Pickard said police have removed five people from the home, four men and one woman. The men were handcuffed, he said, however the woman was not.

Police have not yet provided more information on the situation. However, GSPS tweeted that the scene has been secured and there is no danger to the public.

The Greater Sudbury Police tweeted a few moments ago that they are on the scene of a weapons complaint in the Albert Street area, near Queen's Athletic Field.

Police are asking the drivers and the public to avoid the area.
