A 20-year-old Sudbury man who allegedly drove while impaired to the Ontario Provincial Police detachment on Highway 69 Sept. 11 to speak with officers about another matter has been charged with impaired driving.

Provincial police said the man was a person of interest in an investigation concerning the removal of a personal watercraft, utility terrain vehicle and an all-terrain vehicle from a home on Nepawassi Lake Road in Markstay-Warren.

While speaking to the man, officers determined he was impaired. As a result, he was arrested and charged with impaired driving, as well as three counts of taking a motor vehicle without consent.

He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Oct. 27.
