Greater Sudbury Police hope someone has information that will lead to the arrest of two men involved in a home invasion earlier this week.
?We really want to catch these guys,? said Staff Sgt. Todd Zimmerman.
Anyone with any information is asked to phone Crimestoppers at 675-8477 (TIPS) or Greater Sudbury Police at 675-9171.
On Monday afternoon, a 79-year-old woman who lives on Old Wanup Road answered the door after hearing a knock on her front door.
The woman told police she saw a white car pull into her driveway around 3 pm and one young man told her he was looking for another man who lived in the area.
The woman kindly invited the man inside her residence and went as far as to lend him her phone book.
A second man entered the home and they proceeded to threaten the woman demanding money. The woman, a widow, was grabbed and dragged down a hallway.
One of the men used an extension cord to tie the woman?s wrist and ankles and pushed her onto her bed before rifling through her dresser drawers, jewelry box and purse, taking cash, credit cards and jewelry.
?She didn?t suffer any serious physical injuries, but there?s a lot of emotional damage and fear,? said Zimmerman.
Police released a news release saying investigators have good leads on one of the suspects and hope to make an arrest soon.
Zimmerman said one of the suspects was caught on videotape shortly after the home invasion. Certain items stolen from the victim were used at a variety store.
?An incident like a home invasion is a very traumatic experience for the victims,? he said. ?People are sitting at home and then all of a sudden someone breaks in and threatens and steals from them...it?s not a pleasant thing.?
One suspect is described as white between age 25 and 30 with black, medium-length hair that is combed back and to the right. He is clean shaven with a pale complexion and a medium, muscular build. He was wearing a waist-length winter jacket (possibly green) and dark pants.
