Greater Sudbury Police continue to investigate an incident where a six-year-old boy was seriously injured after he ran into the street and was hit by a motor vehicle Saturday afternoon.
A number of eyewitnesses have come forward, and police are in the process of reviewing the physical evidence and obtaining video footage of the event, said a press release sent out by police at 4:25 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
The matter remains under investigation.
Police are thanking bystanders and an off-duty police officer who rushed to the child's aid. Cody Thwaites is being treated at Toronto's SickKids Hospital, and police say he is expected to make a full recovery.
