Original story

Greater Sudbury Police are seeking the public’s help to track down the driver of a transport truck involved in a March 20 crash on Municipal Road 80 near Donaldson Crescent in McCrea Heights.

Police report that around 6:50 a.m. that day, an SUV and a transport truck (travelling without a trailer) were both travelling north towards Val Caron when they collided near Donaldson Crescent in McRae Heights.

“As a result of the collision, the driver of the SUV lost control, crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a hydro pole,” police said. “The driver of the SUV, a 46-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries and was extricated from the vehicle by City of Greater Sudbury Fire Services prior to being transported to the hospital by City of Greater Sudbury Paramedic Services.”

The Greater Sudbury Police Service Traffic Management Unit (TMU) continues to investigate the incident.

Police are now trying to track down the transport truck involved (see image above) and to identify the driver.

“Officers are also looking to speak with the driver of a vehicle that was almost hit by the SUV when it travelled into oncoming traffic prior to striking the hydro pole,” GSPS said.

Anyone with information related to the collision, the involved transport truck, or the driver of the truck at the time of the incident is asked to contact the GSPS at 705-675-9171 extension 2421.
