Police seeking witnesses after three injured in early morning crash

Two-vehicle collision briefly closed part of Barrydowne Road

Greater Sudbury Police Service is seeking witnesses to a two-vehicle collision near the intersection of The Kingsway and Barrydowne Road that sent three people to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries this morning.

The roadway is fully reopened.

Greater Sudbury Police said they were called to the scene just after 6:20 a.m. Police said a Blue Kia was turning from Barrydowne Road onto The Kingsway, headed east when it collided with a black BMW that was travelling west on The Kingsway.

The vehicles came to a stop on Barrydowne Road, with one vehicle, the BMW, partially on the median and the Kia partially in the off-ramp.

All three people involved (the 78-year-old female driver of one vehicle and her 15-year-old female passenger, as well as the 23-year-old male driver of the other vehicle) were transported to Health Sciences North with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation into the crash continues.
