Police uncover drug stash in apartment

On Tuesday, members of the Joint Forces Drug Enforcement Unit, which consists of OPP, RCMP and the Greater Sudbury Police drug enforcement and street crime sections, executed a controlled drugs and substance search warrant at a Pine St.

On Tuesday, members of the Joint Forces Drug Enforcement Unit, which consists of OPP, RCMP and the Greater Sudbury Police drug enforcement and street crime sections, executed a controlled drugs and substance search warrant at a Pine St. apartment in Sudbury.

The search revealed $515 in Canadian currency, approximately one ounce of cocaine, two pounds of cannabis marijuana, 36 oxycodone pills, digital scales, debt lists, three cell phones and a recipe for making ?crack? cocaine.

Police estimate the total street value of the drugs seized was $11,500.

An 18-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man have both been charged and held pending bail.

Both are charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking, two other counts of possessing prescription drugs for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a 25-year-old being sought on similar charges in relation to this drug bust.
