Police want accident witnesses to come forward

Greater Sudbury Police are looking for more witnesses to a collision Friday involving a truck and motorcycle that claimed the life of a Chelmsford man.

Greater Sudbury Police are looking for more witnesses to a collision Friday involving a truck and motorcycle that claimed the life of a Chelmsford man.

The accident occurred around 8 pm when the collision took place on Municipal Road 15 in Chelmsford.

The accident included a 1998 burgundy pickup truck which was travelling eastbound and a 1983 Honda Aspencade motorcycle, which was travelling westbound.

Traffic officers have spoken to witnesses following the pickup truck, but have not heard from the drivers who were behind the motorcycle.

Police say information from these drivers is crucial to the ongoing investigation.

Robert Chartrand, 44, was taken to St. Joseph's Health Centre with severe head injuries and succumbed to his injuries over the weekend.

The driver of the truck was not injured.
