Search warrant at Massey business finds cannabis, cigarettes

A 49-year-old was arrested and faces several charges

The Ontario Provincial Police report a search warranted executed at a business in Massey turned up illegal drugs and unmarked cigarettes.

One person is facing charges as a result of the Sept. 14 raid.

Manitoulin OPP report a search warrant was executed at 12 p.m. that day at a business on Sauble Street in Massey.

“Police located cannabis, psilocybin as well as unmarked cigarettes,” police allege.

As a result, a 49-year-old Massey resident was arrested and is charged with:

  • Unlawfully sell cannabis
  • Unlawfully possess cannabis for the purpose of selling it
  • Possess schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possess unmarked cigarettes for sale
  • Possess a quantity of unmarked cigarettes
  • Possess property obtained by crime under $5,000 

The accused was released following a bail hearing on Sept. 15 and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on Oct. 3.
