With this morning's icy conditions, transport became stuck on steep downtown hill

The roadway is now open. Greater Sudbury Police thank the public for their patience.

Greater Sudbury Police say they're shutting down Paris Street at Lloyd Street at this hour to allow a transport truck stuck on the Lloyd Street hill room to back down the steep downtown hill.

"Please be patient," said a tweet from police issued at 8:18 a.m.

"Officers are working as quickly and as safely as possible to get the roadway clear."

An earlier tweet said motorists may want to find an alternate route.
