A 21-year-old man has been charged with robbery after he stole $700 from a 61-year-old woman on April 17.

At around 5 p.m. on April 17, Greater Sudbury Police officers responded to an incident at Bank of Montreal on Durham Street.

The suspect allegedly pushed the victim, causing minor injuries. The suspect then fled on foot and was chased by bank security, who reported the incident to the police.

Police located the suspect at a downtown restaurant where he was subsequently arrested.

The victim’s stolen money was located on the suspect and recovered. The suspect has been charged with robbery, possess property obtained by crime, resist arrest and breach of probation.
