A two vehicle collision occurred Thursday on Hwy. 17 just east of the Canadian Pacific Railway train crossing. OPP officers found an eastbound pickup truck attempted to pass an eastbound tractor trailer unit and both vehicles collided.
The driver of the pick up truck, Jane Trivett, 49, of Noelville, was extricated by the Nickel Centre Fire Department and then airlifted to the St. Joseph?s Health Centre in Sudbury. She remains in hospital in stable condition.
The driver of the tractor trailer unit was uninjured and his passenger received minor injuries. The police investigation continues.
