Greater Sudbury Police have arrested a 23-year-old Sudbury man with several counts of sexual assault.

GSPS said in 2022 they began an investigation after receiving two separate complaints about an employee at the Sudbury Family Health Organization, a medical clinic located on Bancroft Drive in Minnow Lake.

The two complaints related to the same individual, an administrative assistant at the clinic.

“Information provided was that this individual worked as an administrative assistant at Sudbury Family Health Organization in Greater Sudbury, however, he was using his position to conduct physical examinations of patients, resulting in sexual assault,” police allege.

Due to the sensitive nature of the incident and in order to protect the survivors’ identities, police said no further details would be provided regarding the case.

The 23-year-old has been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of  Canada:

  • Sexual Assault x3
  • Sexual Exploitation

“[The suspect] is no longer employed with Sudbury Family Health Organization,” police said.

The man has a court appearance in Sudbury scheduled for April 17 to answer to the charges.

Based on the investigation, police said there are there may be other survivors. Anyone with information related to this incident or this individual is asked to contact Detective Constable  Gianluca Scaglione at 705-675-9171, extension 2230.
