Around $7,800 in drugs were seized and six people charged after a home in Sturgeon Falls was searched earlier this week.
On July 29 at around 7 p.m., members from the OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and the Nipissing West Detachment executed a search warrant at a residence on Cache Bay Road in the Municipality of West Nipissing (Sturgeon Falls).
Officers seized a quantity of drugs suspected to be: Fentanyl, Crystal Methamphetamine, Methamphetamine tablets and Hydromorphone along with drug paraphernalia and more than $6,500 in Canadian currency. The street value of the drugs seized is approximately $7,800.
As a result of the investigation, six people were arrested and charged.
A 38-year-old man from Nipissing First Nation, was charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Oct. 1 in Sturgeon Falls.
A 43-year-old man from Sturgeon Falls, was charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Opioid (other than heroin)
- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance - Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance - Opioid (other than heroin)
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
The accused remains in custody and was scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice - Bail Court on July 30 in North Bay.
A 32-year-old woman from Sturgeon Falls, was charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance - Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance - Opioid (other than heroin)
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
A 47-year-old man from Sturgeon Falls, and a 22-year-old man of no fixed address, were charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance - Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance - Opioid (other than heroin)
A 19-year-old man from Sturgeon Falls, was charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance - Methamphetamine
A 39-year-old woman from Corbeil, ON, was charged with:
- Failure to Comply with Release Order - other than to attend court
The accused were released on an appearance notice and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Oct. 1 in Sturgeon Falls.
