Snowmobile patrols in Capreol result in 11 tickets

Officers handed out 11 tickets to snowmobilers on March 29 as part of a joint effort between Greater Sudbury Police Service and and the Ontario Provincial Police SAVE unit. Officers were on patrol in the Capreol area.

Officers handed out 11 tickets to snowmobilers on March 29 as part of a joint effort between Greater Sudbury Police Service and and the Ontario Provincial Police SAVE unit.

Officers were on patrol in the Capreol area. They stopped about 60 snowmobiles and handed out the following tickets:

2 – helmet
1 – speeding (103 km in a 50km/hr zone)
2 – document
3 – muffler
1 – no insurance
2 – no trail pass

Greater Sudbury Police Service reminds motorized snow vehicle operators to abide by the posted speed limits on the trails, and to ensure they carry their documentation and that snowmobiles are legal for the trails.
