A driver refused to provide a breath sample to officers after being caught going 91 km/h on Lasalle Boulevard on Aug. 20, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

The driver had their licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

Another driver was stopped downtown and registered a warning on the screening device, said police.

His licence was suspended for seven days due to the fact this was the second time in five years he registered a warning.

These drivers were two of 460 checked by Greater Sudbury Police Service during RIDE checks on Howey Drive at Downing Street, Brady Street at Broadway, Notre Dame and Lasalle. Officers handed out 14 Highway Traffic Act offences.

Two standard field sobriety tests were administered for drug driving, with 10 demands made for breath tests.
