St. George Street reopened at Notre Dame after weapons complaint

One man was transported to hospital with what are believed to be stab wounds, St. George Street remains closed while police canvass neighbours for information and video surveillance

Greater Sudbury Police have released more information about the weapons complaint on St. George Street. 

In a release, police said information provided was that a man had attended an establishment on Notre Dame Avenue "with what were believed to be stab wounds."

Officers and Greater Sudbury paramedics arrived on scene and located a 31-year-old man who had sustained serious injuries, said GSPS. The man was transported to hospital where he remains in stable condition. There was no one else in the residence. 

Officers continue to canvas the area of Notre Dame Avenue and St. George Street for information and video surveillance footage. Anyone with information related to this incident or video surveillance equipment in the area is asked to contact police at (705)675-9171.

Greater Sudbury Police are reporting that one person has been transported to hospital with possible stab wounds after they were dispatched to a weapons complaint at St. George Street  near Notre Dame and Laforest Avenues. 

St. George Street is still closed in the area while police canvass neighbours for information and video surveillance, reads a post on X (formerly Twitter.) 

Dispatched to a weapons complaint at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 3., police entered the residence “to check on the safety of those inside,” and  reported that one person was sent to hospital with what they believed to be stab wounds.
