Sudbury man arrested near Wawa for breaching conditions

An early morning traffic stop near White River resulted in an arrest and charges for a Sudbury man on June 15.

At approximately 7 a.m. that day, Superior East OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 17 near White River. 

Officers reported locating the vehicle near Wawa and pulled it over. Police said when they ran the man’s driver’s licence, it was discovered that licence was suspended and the person was also on court-ordered conditions not to operate a motor vehicle. 

The 51-year-old from Sudbury was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a release order and driving while under suspension.

Released from custody, the man is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 6 in Wawa.
