Sudbury man ID’d as body found in Murray Lake Road fire

Police report 39-year-old was found in the rubble from the fire

The Warren Ontario Provincial Police say the body found after firefighters extinguished a blaze in a residence on Murray Lake Road, north of Warren, is that of a 39-year-old Sudbury man.

On Aug.10 at around 8:45 a.m., police responded to a call for assistance from the Markstay-Warren Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) at a residential fire on Murray Lake Road.

Police said the residence was completely destroyed, and after the fire was extinguished, a body was located in the rubble.

A post mortem examination took place on Aug. 11 and the Warren OPP Crime Unit, with assistance from the coroner and the Office of the Fire Marshall, are continuing to investigate.

The deceased male has been identified as Dennis Thompson, 39, from Sudbury.
