Provincial police have charged a 42-year-old Sudbury man with numerous offences following a single-vehicle collision on Crooked Lake Road in Cox Township on Sept. 10.

Police said the vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, struck a rock cut and rolled over. The driver fled on foot, but officers later found him walking towards Highway 69. He had minor injuries.

Further investigation revealed he had been drinking and the vehicle was stolen. A canine track took place, and officers recovered stolen property.

The suspect is charged with operation while impaired, possession of property obtained by crim over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, failing to remain, careless driving, driving while under suspension, driving a motor vehicle with no licence, and having open liquor.

He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Nov. 18 in Sudbury.

He was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (ADLS) and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
