North Bay OPP officers arrested and charged a Sudbury man in the early morning hours of Aug. 4 after it was found that he was in breach of a probation order.

On Aug. 4, at approximately 5 a.m., officers from the North Bay Detachment of the OPP were patrolling in Calvin Township. Officers came along a suspicious vehicle parked in the Pimisi Lake Park rest stop, along Highway 17 in Calvin Township.

Upon speaking with the vehicle occupant, the officers discovered that this person was breaching a prohibition order, specifically the condition not to attend a public park/swimming area where people under 16 years of age are can reasonably be expected to be.

As a result of police investigation, 68-year-old Rheal P. Legault of Sudbury was arrested and charged with the following failing to comply with a prohibition regarding children and obstructing a peace officer.

He has been released on a recognizance of bail to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on Aug. 20.
