UPDATE: A Wahnapitae man wanted on fraud charges, and for whom an arrest warrant had been issued last week, is no longer wanted.

Greater Sudbury Police confirmed today that Denis Pilotte has been arrested and his case is now before the courts.

Greater Sudbury Police are asking the public's help in locating Denis Pilotte, a Sudbury man who has an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

In a news release, police say Pilotte is wanted in connection to an incident that took place May 12, 2009.

“It is alleged that Denis Pilotte committed fraud at three banking institutions,” police said in the release. “Denis Pilotte is known to reside in the area of Wahnapitae in the City of Greater Sudbury.”

He is wanted on three counts of fraud under $5,000.

Anyone who has information on Pilotte's whereabouts, they are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS,  or locally at 705-222-TIPS. You must use those phone numbers to be eligible for the cash reward. Tips can be submitted online at www.sudburycrimestoppers.com or by texting “TIPSUD” and the information to “CRIMES” (274637).

Crime Stoppers will pay a reward not only for Pilotte, but for information that leads to an arrest of anyone involved in a crime. All calls are confidential and you won't be asked to testify in court.
