Sudbury OPP nab Little Current man for impaired driving

A 51-year-old man from Little Current was arrested and charged for driving while impaired after he was stopped by Sudbury OPP on Highway 17 on Nov. 7.

On Nov. 7, at around 9:15 p.m., members of the Sudbury OPP received a traffic complaint of a vehicle being driven erratically on the highway.

Police were able to locate and stop the vehicle on Long Lake Road. As a result of the investigation, a 51-year-old man from Little Current was arrested and charged with the following:

Driving while impaired – motor vehicle

Driving with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood

The suspect's driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle he was operating was impounded for seven days

The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury, on Dec. 7 to answer to his charges.

The OPP is reminding motorists that there is no safe amount of alcohol or drug consumption when driving. Anyone who suspects a driver is driving while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1 immediately.
