Sudbury resident charged for driving 50 km/h over posted speed limit

Licence suspended, vehicle impounded and a court date set for May 21

A 47-year-old Sudburian has been charged with racing a motor vehicle after OPP said the man was clocked travelling 50 kilometres an hour over the posted speed limit.

The driver was caught March 14 at 10:10 p.m. on Highway 17 in Greater Sudbury, Sudbury OPP reported.

The driver’s licence was suspended for seven days and the vehicle was impounded.

He was released on provincial summons and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 21.
