Sudbury senior killed in Highway 11 crash

An 80-year-old Sudbury woman died after the vehicle she was driving hit a rock cut on Highway 11 in Strathcona Township, said the Ontario Provincial Police. Lillian Selman was driving south on Highway 11 at abut 12:03 p.m. on Aug. 12.

An 80-year-old Sudbury woman died after the vehicle she was driving hit a rock cut on Highway 11 in Strathcona Township, said the Ontario Provincial Police.

Lillian Selman was driving south on Highway 11 at abut 12:03 p.m. on Aug. 12. The vehicle crossed into the northbound land and hit the rock cut.

Firefighters and paramedics extracted Selman and transported her to Temiskaming Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision investigators are assisting with this collision. Highway 11 was closed in both directions, but has since been re-opened.
