Sudbury woman found passed out in her vehicle charged with impaired

A Sudbury woman has been charged with impaired driving after provincial police were alerted to an unconscious person inside a vehicle parked on the shoulder of Highway 17 in Verner.

On June 6, at 11:27 p.m., officers found the vehicle and transported the driver by ambulance to the hospital out of precaution. It was determined the 27-year-old driver was impaired. She was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on July 8. 

Her licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for 45 days.

The Ontario Provincial Police said this incident marks the 31st driver charged under the criminal impaired driving laws in the Nipissing West Detachment area in 2021.
