Sudbury woman killed in two-vehicle collision on Hwy 11

A resident of Sudbury was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 11 Friday morning in Huntsville. 

On Dec. 6 around 10:30 a.m., Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Muskoka EMS and Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire, were called to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 11 near South May Lake Road. 

They were followed to the scene shortly thereafter by an OPP Traffic Reconstructionist and Traffic Collision Investigators.

According to police, a BMW had been travelling westbound on South Mary Lake Road when it was struck by a cube van that was heading northbound on Highway 11. 

The driver of the BMW, 41-year-old Keisha Andrews of Sudbury, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The occupants of the cub van, on the other hand, were treated by Muskoka EMS and released at the scene. 

Highway 11 northbound was closed at the scene for several hours but has since been reopened.
