Suspect arrested in 'blueberry' robberies

Sudbury police are investigating two complaints about robberies in the Wahnapitae area Sunday. Both robberies took place at stops along the road where vendors buy blueberries. The first robbery took place at 102 Highway 17 E.
Sudbury police are investigating two complaints about robberies in the Wahnapitae area Sunday.

Both robberies took place at stops along the road where vendors buy blueberries.

The first robbery took place at 102 Highway 17 E. just before noon yesterday. The suspect is described as a while male, 18 to 19 years of age, about 5' 4", with curly dark hair. He was wearing a baseball cap and a gold necklace.

The lone female attendant was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash.

The second robbery took place a short distance from the first, about 3 pm.

The suspect in this robbery was apprehended later in the community of Falconbridge.

The suspect, 18, of Listowel, will appear in bail court Tuesday.
