Video: Bank robbery suspect fled on foot, police say

Still searching for suspect described as a white male, six-feet tall and skinny

Greater Sudbury Police are searching for a white male suspected in an attempted bank robbery this afternoon in New Sudbury.

Shortly before 3 p.m., there was an attempted bank robbery at the Bank of Montreal on Lasalle Boulevard in Sudbury, police said in a news release Tuesday.

"A lone male suspect entered the bank," the release said. "No weapon was seen. He fled the bank on foot. Police attended with a large presence searching the area. Officers remain in that area canvassing for information." 

The force's Criminal Investigations Division is handling the investigation.

The suspect is described as a white male, six-feet tall and skinny. He was wearing a black vest, dark blue or black pants with a white stripe and wearing running shoes. He had on a backpack.
