Taxi driver robbed by passengers

Greater Sudbury Police are on the lookout for two men accused of robbing a taxi driver Thursday night. At approximately 10 :20 pm, the two men were picked up from downtown and driven to the St.

Greater Sudbury Police are on the lookout for two men accused of robbing a taxi driver Thursday night.

At approximately 10 :20 pm, the two men were picked up from downtown and driven to the St. Mary area where they supposedly chocked the taxi driver and escaped with an undisclosed amount of money.

Suspects were last seen by witnesses running south on Morrison St. The Greater Sudbury Canine Unit has located evidence left behind by one of the suspects.

The first man is described as white, five-foot-ten, skinny with short blond hair and unshaven with a heavy goatee. He was wearing a navy blue hooded sweater, a black baseball cap, light blue jeans and dark blue running shoes.

The second suspect is white, six feet tall with a medium build and dark blond shoulder length hair. He was wearing a black, white and blue flannel jacket, a grey baseball cap, light blue jeans and boots.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 675-TIPS.
