Teen caught driving 96 km/h in 40 km/h zone

Greater Sudbury Police caught an 18-year-old man driving 96 km/h in a 40 km/h zone on Valley View Road Jan. 5. The officers were conducting radar enforcement in the area in response to speeding complaints.

The officers were conducting radar enforcement in the area in response to speeding complaints.

The teen, a G2 driver operating his parents' car, was charged with stunt driving. The charge also resulted in the vehicle being impounded for seven days and the suspect losing his driver's licence for seven days.

He is due to appear in court Jan. 21 to answer to the charge.
