Thieves make off with firearms from Little Current home

The Ontario Provincial Police is looking for a number of long guns that were stolen during a break-in in Little Current this past weekend.

Sometime between the afternoon of March 25 and the evening of March 26, a culprit or culprits gained entry to a residence on Blake Street in Little Current, ransacking the home and the detached garage.*

Besides making off with two laptop computers, a computer router and two hunting knifes, the thief or thieves stole five long guns.

The stolen guns include:

  • A Winchester Model SXP 12-gauge pump shot gun with a synthetic camo stock, 28-inch barrel, plugged to three-shot capacity. The shotgun has drill marks on the trigger guard.
  • A Winchester Model SXP 12-gauge pump shot gun with a tan-coloured synthetic stock, and an 18- to 20-inch barrel plugged to three-shot capacity. This shotgun has a small scratch in the receiver.
  • A Russian SKS 7.62 x 39mm semi-auto rifle that is light coloured with a wood stock and a five-round magazine.
  • A Winchester Model 94 lever-action rifle with a wood stock (nicked up), with a front sight cover. The barrel and magazine are of equal length, OPP said.
  • A Tikka Model T-3 22-250 bolt action rifle with a black synthetic stock, a bi-pod on the stock. The rifle also has Tasco World Class scope mounted.

The investigation is continuing, OPP said
