The OPP's Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad is requesting the public's assistance in locating a federal offender who's wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large.
Tarek Akl is described as a man of middle eastern descent, 29 years old, 5-10, 190 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes.
Akl is supposed to be serving a five-year sentence for a long list of offences.
Those include possession of prohibited firearms with ammunition, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order, possession of property obtained by crime, obstructing a peace officer, assault peace officer, utter threats of death/bodily harm, possession of a schedule I/II substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a schedule II substance and possess/sell identity document.
Akl is known to frequent the Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal areas.
