Three people face impaired-driving-related charges

A 21-year-old man is charged with impaired driving and having more than 80 mgs of alcohol in his blood after being stopped by police on Aug. 9, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

The car was stopped at about 7:35 a.m., and officers noted the odour of alcohol. A roadside breath test was conducted. The driver failed, was arrested and taken to police headquarters.

His driver’s licence was suspended for seven days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He was released from custody with a pending court date.

A 40-year-old man was arrested Aug. 14 after he was stopped by police in the area of Cedar Street and Elgin Street at about 4:25 a.m.

The driver failed a roadside breath test. He was arrested and taken to police headquarters. He is charged with having more than 80 mgs of alcohol in his blood. His licence was suspended for seven days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

He was released from custody with a pending court date on Aug. 27.

A 34-year-old man was arrested Aug. 15 after being stopped by police on Elgin Street at 12:57 a.m.

The driver refused the demand for a breath test and was arrested. He was issued a seven-day driver's licence suspension, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days. He was released from custody with an a pending court date scheduled on Aug. 27.
